This is the entry point to the ACEMAGIC range: the K1 with the Ryzen Embedded R2544, 8 GB of DDR4 and a 256 GB SSD, running Windows 11 Pro. It suits one main job done well, such as a reception desk PC, a kitchen computer for recipes and calendars, a child's homework machine or a box behind the TV. It also leaves room to grow, because the memory and storage can both be expanded later.

What 8GB and 256GB get you

Eight gigabytes runs Windows 11 with a browser, email and an Office app open at once. Keep the tab count sensible and it stays responsive. Where 8 GB starts to feel tight is with dozens of browser tabs, video calls running alongside large spreadsheets, or several user accounts signed in at the same time.

A 256 GB drive holds Windows, your apps and a modest set of documents. After Windows updates, expect roughly two-thirds of it to be free for your files. People with large photo or music libraries should plan for a second drive or cloud storage.

The upgrade path

This is the main reason to choose this version over a sealed budget PC. The K1 has two SO-DIMM memory slots and two M.2 storage slots. Adding a second 8 GB stick brings it to 16 GB in dual channel, which also helps the integrated graphics. ACEMAGIC lists support for up to 32 GB. The spare M.2 slot accepts either a SATA or an NVMe drive, so a 1 TB or 2 TB SSD can be added without touching the original drive.

If you'd rather not open the case at all, the K1 R2544 with 16GB and 1TB comes ready with more of both.

Everyday performance

The R2544 is a four-core, eight-thread Zen+ chip from AMD's embedded family, made for machines that run all day. Browsing, documents, video calls and 4K streaming are well within its range. Photo editing works for light adjustments. Video editing and recent 3D games are not what this machine is for.

Ports and screens

Six USB-A ports cover a keyboard, mouse, webcam, printer, card reader and a drive. HDMI, DisplayPort and USB-C give three video outputs. ACEMAGIC lists 4K at 60 Hz per output, dropping to 4K at 30 Hz when three screens run at once. Wireless is Wi-Fi 5 with Bluetooth 4.2, and there's Gigabit Ethernet for a wired connection.

Who it suits

  • A single-purpose PC: point of sale, reception, digital signage or a kitchen display
  • A first computer for a student who mainly writes, browses and joins online classes
  • Anyone who wants to start small and add memory and storage later
