This M5 uses Intel's Core 5 220H instead of the i7-14650HX. It's a 45 W, twelve-core, sixteen-thread chip that boosts to 4.9 GHz, paired with 24 GB of memory, a 512 GB SSD and Windows 11 Pro. It sits between the everyday machines and the flagship M5: much more capable than a four-core N150 or R2544, with less raw power and a lower power budget than the HX model.

Key specs

  • Processor: Intel Core 5 220H, 12 cores (4 performance + 8 efficient) / 16 threads, up to 4.9 GHz, 18 MB cache, 45 W base power, 115 W maximum turbo power, Intel 7
  • Memory: 24 GB
  • Storage: 512 GB SSD
  • System: Windows 11 Pro
  • Series: ACEMAGIC M5

How the 220H compares

Intel's Core 5 220H belongs to the Core Series 2 family. It has four performance cores with Hyper-Threading and eight efficient cores, for twelve cores and sixteen threads. The performance cores boost to 4.9 GHz, close to the 5.2 GHz of the i7-14650HX, so single-threaded speed (opening apps, browsing, spreadsheets) is similar. The difference shows in heavy multi-core work. The i7-14650HX has eight performance cores and twenty-four threads, so it pulls ahead in rendering, compiling and video encoding.

Against the everyday models, the gap runs the other way. The 220H has three times the cores of the four-core V1 N150 and much higher clocks.

Memory and storage

Twenty-four gigabytes is a comfortable amount for Windows 11 with a heavy browser, an Office suite, a photo editor and chat apps open together. The 512 GB SSD covers Windows, apps and a working set of files. ACEMAGIC hasn't published the memory type or slot layout for this M5 version, so check the product page before planning an upgrade.

Power and noise

A 45 W base power is a middle setting for a mini PC. It is higher than the 15 W U-series chips in some K1 versions, which suits sustained work better, and well below the HX flagship. Intel allows short bursts up to 115 W, so how fast the machine runs over a long export depends on how ACEMAGIC tunes cooling and power limits in this chassis. ACEMAGIC has not published those limits for this version.

Graphics

The 220H uses Intel's integrated graphics. It's fine for three-screen office work and video, but for gaming or GPU-heavy editing the AMD models with Radeon 680M and 780M graphics are a better match.

Who should pick this one

  • Office and home users who want quick, modern performance with headroom
  • Programmers and analysts whose work is mostly single-threaded or moderately multi-threaded
  • Buyers who want a newer Intel chip than the N-series without paying for the HX flagship

If you need the most CPU cores, step up to the M5 with i7-14650HX. If you play games, look at the X3.

Before you order

The M5 name covers more than one processor, and the chassis details on ACEMAGIC's M5 spec sheet were published for the i7 version. Confirm the port list, wireless standard and memory type for the Core 5 220H version on its product page.
